Spring-energized lip seals consist of a virgin/charged PTFE structure with an energizing spring in INOX 302 stainless steel or in an exotic alloy (Elgiloy® is the most common). The spring can be either helical or V-shaped according to the type of seal.
These are also available to a customer’s specific design and shape, and can have a static sealing function or a dynamic one.
