PTFE Tri-clamp gaskets
PTFE Tri-clamp gaskets
TRI-CLAMP gaskets are used as a sealing element between two inox steel “clamp” fittings (called ferrules), closed by a collar without using bolts; in addition, tri-clamps are able to self-centre their position thanks to the semi-cylindrical protuberance on both the surfaces of the gasket which fit perfectly into the groove of the two “ferrules”.

Application Sectors
Tri-clamps are mostly used in the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries, both in laboratories and at production sites. These applications need perfect cleaning, hygiene and sterilization. The potential for easy removal and cleaning of the gasket makes the tri-clamp the perfect solution for these particular applications.

Materials

Flon-Chem® 1121
This is a virgin “premium grade” PTFE classified for medical use at up to 121°C according to USP class VI certification. Available also as an “envelope” option, with rubber inserts like EPDM, FLON-CHEM 1006 FKM and VMQ.

Flon-Chem® 1050 BLUE
This is a modified PTFE reinforced with hollow glass microspheres. Thanks to its high elasticity and elastic return it offers a high adaptability even with low torque couplings.

Flon-Chem® 1045 SILVER
This is a special mix made from 50% virgin PTFE and 50% spherical passivated inox 316. These particular gaskets have a higher stability and lifespan and are ideal for environments subject to a lot of sterilisation processes (S.I.P.). They are specifically designed for steam resistance and are metal detectable!!
