Chevron packing seals (also called V-rings) are used for sealing on rods and cylinders. Once fitted and compressed, the internal ring clips open, sealing the machine.
Head and bottom rings
These two rings are the elements supporting all the compression power of the packing. They’re usually made from materials with a better resistance to compression, like PTFE charged carbon / carbographite / glass, or PEEK in the most critical applications. Other materials are available at the customer’s request.
Middle rings
The middle rings are for both sealing and maintaining a good flow rate. The typical materials used are the virgin FLON-CHEM 1000, and the carbon-charged or carbographite PTFE FLON-CHEM 1002 which is often used as an alternative.
Other materials are available at the customer’s request.
