Pure graphite and reinforced graphite gaskets

FF.GI srl has developed a range of graphite gaskets, perfect for high temperature requirements (up to 450°C in oxidizing environments) and resistant to pressure (up to 100BAR according to the gasket design).

Some application examples include: environments with saturated steam, gas or diathermic oils, and all applications in which the best-performing PTFE gaskets or the most common aramid fibre/elastomer gaskets would not be useful because they would be way over their application range.

TYPES

- GRA-FLEX 5000
Pure expanded graphite with purity rate above 99% and density of 1.0 km/dm3. Perfect behaviour at high temperatures and low permeability to gas and fluids in general. Good chemical resistance.
- GRA-FLEX 5200
Sandwich of expanded graphite: purity > 98% reinforced with double sheets in non-corrosive aluminium alloy 1200 with advanced mechanical properties, combined at the same time flexibility and softness. This material can be used as an insert in PTFE envelope gaskets.
- GRA-FLEX 5400
Sandwich of expanded graphite: purity > 98% reinforced with a stainless-steel sheet in AISI 316L (sp.0,05mm), smooth. Thanks to the laminated sheet it is perfect for situations with a high sealing range and handling.
Recommended for a wide range of applications such as saturated and heated steam, and aggressive chemicals (no oxidants). Its main use is in petrochemical and thermoelectrical applications where resistance to creep is required.
- GRA-FLEX 5300
Expanded graphite sandwich: purity > 99% without fillers, reinforced with a tanged stainless-steel sheet in AISI 316L (sp. 0,1mm). Compared to GRA-FLEX 5400 it is more efficient in situations with higher sealing rates and requiring higher resistance to the extrusion process.
- GRA-FLEX 5300/I
Expanded graphite gasket with a tangled stainless steel AISI 316L core (0,10mm) and reinforced with an internal tanged stainless-steel sheet in AISI 316L. This gasket gives excellent sealing results in every situation, including saturated steam, diathermic oil, and gas. In addition, the internal ring avoids contact between the material and the external parts of the gasket, improving the performance and the pressure resistance.
- GRA-FLEX 5300/IE
Expanded graphite gasket with a tangled stainless steel AISI 316L core (0,10mm) and reinforced with internal and external tanged stainless-steel sheets in AISI 316L. Compared to the GRA-FLEX 5300/I, the external reinforcement ring makes the gasket less fragile for handling and installation.
