Chevron packing seals (also called V-rings) are used for sealing on rods and cylinders. Once fitted and compressed, the internal ring clips open, sealing the machine.
- Head and bottom rings:
These two rings are the elements supporting all the compression power of the packing. They’re usually made from materials with a better resistance to compression, like PTFE charged carbon / carbographite / glass, or PEEK in the most critical applications.

- Middle rings:
The middle rings are for both sealing and maintaining a good flow rate. The typical materials used are the virgin FLON-CHEM 1000, and the carbon-charged or carbographite PTFE FLON-CHEM 1002 which is often used as an alternative.
